Meet Our Team - Christy Keating
Christy Keating, J.D.
Position at the Hallowell Todaro ADHD Center:
PCI Certified Parent Coach
How long have you been working at Hallowell Todaro ADHD?
About 3 months
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Denver, CO but moved to Redmond, WA as a kid. We still had a lot of friends in Colorado though, so I spent a lot of summers back in Colorado…I consider both states my home.
What are your favorite books / TV shows / movies?
I read a lot, but some of my favorite books of 2022 included “Cloud Cuckoo Land” by Anthony Doerr, “Migrations” and “Once There Were Wolves” by Charlotte Mcconaghy, and “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus. I don’t watch a ton of TV, and most of my movie watching is with my kiddos, but I love and miss Downton Abbey.
What’s your favorite sport and/or sports team?
The Seahawks

What led you to pursue a career in helping others?
My mom was a teacher for 30+ years and such an inspiration to me…it was drilled into me that I need to do something I love, be able to support myself, and make the world a better place.
What education, skills and expertise do you bring to your role?
I’m a licensed attorney in WA and spent nearly 20 years working as a criminal prosecutor in Act I of my professional career.
When I decided to reinvent myself after the birth of my second daughter, I dove into supporting parents and women in every way that I could. I am now a PCI Certified Parent Coach©, a RETAIN Parental Leave Coach, a Certified Positive Discipline Educator, a Certified Gottman Educator, a Certified Fair Play Facilitator, and a trained Playing Big Facilitator. I’m also a certified educator through the Positive Discipline Association in their Keeping the Joy in Relationships and Empowering People in the Workplace curricula.
Finally, I’m a child sexual abuse and sexual assault prevention expert, a board member for the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation and speak internationally about these types of issues.
Who/what inspires you?
I’m inspired by the parents who show up every day and do the work—parenting is not for the faint of heart, and parents, whether they have a neurodivergent kiddo or not, are fighting an uphill battle these days to keep kids healthy. And I’m inspired by my vision of a world where all our kids are accepted for who they are and can grow up both brain and body safe.
What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?
I work hard to create an open, safe, and non-judgmental space in recognition of the fact that we are all doing the best that we can with the tools that we have. We are all on our own journeys, and each and every parent is an expert on their own family. I believe we all have space for growth, and so as I work to give my clients new skills, I focus on positive discipline and conscious parenting. I have seen the incredible difference it has made in my own family and those I work with and truly believe it is the path to raising health adults who can contribute meaningfully to the world!
What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives / increase their happiness?
Focus on gratitude. Each night I write about something I’m grateful for, and make a list of three things that brought me joy that day. This practice has done wonders for my overall perspective on the world!
We provide a range of support for people with ADHD.
