ADHD Medication Management

For some people with ADHD, medication helps relieve symptoms and improve daily functioning. Our medical team thoroughly assesses each client to determine whether medication is a good fit.

Potential Benefits of ADHD Medication

  • Improved functioning
ADHD medication can help people perform the executive functions that are essential to daily life. It can help rebalance the chemicals your brain needs to send messages from one area to the other (neurotransmission), reducing hyperactivity and making it easier to process information.

  • Safety and harm reduction
By reducing distractibility and improving focus, ADHD medication can improve an individual’s safety—for example, when driving or while operating machinery. It’s also linked with a reduction in risk-taking behaviors, substance abuse, and suicidality.

Taking a thorough and tailored approach

Medications work best as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses the emotional and behavioral aspects of ADHD. Medication must also be taken under the supervision of a qualified medical professional who can monitor its effectiveness and any potential side effects.

At the Hallowell Todaro ADHD Center, medication is prescribed by either a psychiatrist or an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) who specializes in ADHD.

What about insurance?

Hallowell Todaro is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. If you have out-of-network mental health coverage, we can help you seek reimbursement for therapeutic services by providing superbills for you to give your insurer. Coaching services are not typically covered.
