What led you to pursue a career helping others?

Through my own personal self-exploration, I developed compassion and understanding for others.

 

What education, skills, and expertise do you bring to your role?

I graduated in three years with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Phi Beta Kappa Honors from The University of Georgia.  I received my Masters in Clinical Social Work from The University of Southern California. I have helped clients at The Relational Center, The Pain Psychology Center, and UCLA Medicine & Pediatrics. I use CBT, DBT, somatic therapy, and psychodynamic therapy to help my clients. I am currently receiving extensive training in Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.

Who/what inspires you?

Gabor Mate inspires me to learn new things in the field of psychology, specifically in relation to shame and childhood trauma. Dorothea Dix has inspired me to fight against ableism and the mistreatment of those suffering with mental illnesses.

What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?

One day at a time. One small step at a time. Minor setback, MAJOR comeback!

What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives and increase their happiness?
