Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Activities
ACTIVITIES THAT REQUIRE MINIMAL SUPERVISION
Have your child keep a journal - they can draw pictures or write in it every day
Give them some sheets, some couch cushions or pillows and let them build a fort.
Have them draw a picture to send to Grandma or for their teacher etc. Teach them about snail mail and have them mail it.
Color Scavenger Hunt - hunt for one color all over the house and then draw a picture of what they found. (other suggestions: look for pillows, lamps, electric outlets, pictures on the wall)
Make bubbles - have them play outside or in the bathtub.
Gather some old boxes and let them build whatever their imagination can create.
Download audio books.
Raid your recycling bin, get some tape and let them come up with an unique art project.
If the weather is cooperating, (light rain does not count - this is the northwest, after all), the backyard would be a great place for them to explore and find treasures.
Pick an item in your house (for example, windows) and have them go around the house and count them.
