What led you to pursue a career helping others?

I just really value walking alongside people so they don't feel alone. Nursing was a great way for me to gain a skillset to help people during a vulnerable time in their life.

What education, skills, and expertise do you bring to your role?

I completed my undergrad at Washington State University, and later earned my nursing degree at a small school in Nashville, TN. I started my career as a nurse at Seattle Children’s in 2014 on the inpatient psych unit (also known as the PBMU). I was heavily involved in the day-to-day workings of the unit as Charge RN. I then transitioned to the team that served the emergency mental health needs throughout the whole hospital. After obtaining my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) degree in 2020 from Gonzaga University, I completed a year-long fellowship at Seattle Children’s with several different specialty settings from psychosis, autism, crisis, and general outpatient follow-up care . My favorite rotation was at UW’s APEX summer camp as a medication consultant for kids with autism and ADHD.

Who/what inspires you?

My Gramma Carole - she is the hardest working person I know, and always remembers to send a personalized handwritten card for anyone’s birthday or upcoming holiday.

What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?

I value walking alongside people - no one should be alone in good times or hard times.

What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives and increase their happiness?

Enjoy a special treat and get a dog - they’re just the best.
