Meet Our Team - Jovana Radovic Wood

Jovana Radovic Wood, LMFT

Position at the Hallowell Todaro ADHD Center:

Therapist, Internship Coordinator, and Supervisor

How long have you been working at the Hallowell Todaro ADHD center?

Almost 4 years:)

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and lived there until I was 8 years old. My family and I then moved to Toronto, Canada for approximately 5 years. Afterwards, we moved to Kirkland, Washington, and I have been living in the Seattle area since.

What are your favorite books / TV shows / movies?

Currently I am into the Suspense/Mystery phase of novels. One of my all-time favorite books, however, is “Small Great Things”, by Jodi Picoult.

As far as TV shows goes, one of favorite recent Netflix binges has been The Fosters. Growing up, my all-time favorite TV show was Boy Meets World (for those of you who are familiar with the 90’s:)

With movies, wow, it’s so hard to pick one! I would say that I tend to gravitate towards suspense/psychological thrillers, although on the other end, I am always excited to watch a good comedy.

What is your favorite sport and/or sports team?

I may lose some fan favorites with this, but I really do not follow any sports.

Complete the following sentences:

When I’m not at work, you can find me....

hanging out with friends or family, traveling, reading, or going on walks/being outside.

When I want to de-stress, I...

go on a run, or watch a favorite show.

My favorite time of year is...

summer, and everything about it!

My favorite thing to cook is...

anything my husband is making that day:)

The best gift I ever received was...

a pair of black Nike Air Jordans in seventh grade!

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I’d go to...

Spain and Italy.

What led you to pursue a career helping others?

I took a Psychology class my junior year of High School, and immediately fell in love with learning about people, the different way we are wired, and how we connect.

What education, skills and expertise do you bring to your role?

I have been in the role of working with people and helping others since I was a teenager. I grew up babysitting, nannying, and tutoring, which then evolved into my undergrad internship at the Seattle Children’s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, where I stayed for over 10 years. During my time there, I got to experience helping children and families with many different strengths and challenges, and getting to support others while they are experiencing perhaps the most challenging times of their life. Since then, I have joined the Hallowell Todaro Team, and now daily get to work with some of the most amazing clients, who I get to learn from every day:)

Who/what inspires you?

People!

What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?

As human beings, we all thrive off of connectedness with one another. The most valuable thing in this world is for each of us to be fully seen and heard by another person.

What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives and increase their happiness?

Self-care. We are unable to truly help anyone else, or find our own happiness, if we don’t take time and listen to our own needs and wants first.

At the Hallowell Todaro Center, we provide a range of services, including but not limited to therapy and coaching for ADHD.
