What led you to pursue a career helping others?
As a teenager, I experienced my own mental health challenges, and for a long time I felt like I was carrying them by myself. Looking back, I know how powerful it would have been to have someone who truly understood, listened without judgment, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. That experience planted the seed for the work I do today. When I began thinking about college, I knew I wanted a career where I could support young people who were navigating similar struggles, even though I wasn’t exactly sure what that would look like. But I trusted that if I kept following my passion for helping others, I’d find the right path, and I did. Today, one of the greatest privileges of my work is helping people feel seen, understood, and hopeful. If I can be the supportive adult that I once needed, then I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
What education, skills, and expertise do you bring to your role?
I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a Clinical Focus from Campbellsville University and am both a Licensed Clinical Independent Associate Social Worker (LSWAIC) and Certified Health Coach (CHC). Over the past seven years, I’ve built a diverse clinical foundation through work in foster care, community mental health, addictions treatment, eating disorder support, and domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy.
While these experiences have shaped me as a clinician, my primary area of focus is working with children, teens, and families navigating ADHD, emotional regulation, and executive functioning challenges. My background allows me to recognize the many factors that can influence a child’s behavior, so I can approach each client with a well- rounded perspective. As a Certified Health Coach, I also bring knowledge of the mind-body connection, helping clients explore how nutrition, sleep, movement, stress, and daily routines can impact mood, attention, and overall well-being. I enjoy translating these concepts into practical, individualized strategies that support lasting change.
Who/what inspires you?
If I had to sum it up, I’d say I’m inspired by curiosity and resilience. I love watching people begin to understand themselves in a new way and realize they’re more capable than they thought. Whether it;s a child recognizing their strengths, a teenager finding confidence, or a family discovering new ways to connect, those moments remind me why I love this work. They also inspire me to keep learning, growing, and finding new ways to support myself because we all could use a little help now and then.
What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every person already has strengths, they may just need help recognizing and building on them. I don’t believe therapy is about “fixing” people. Instead, I see it as a collaborative process of helping clients better understand themselves, develop skills that fit their unique needs, and discover what allows them to thrive. I do this by taking a strengths-based, holistic, and neurodiversity-affirming approach to meet clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels supportive and achievable. I enjoy blending evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT with executive functioning coaching and conversations about the mind-body connection, creating therapy that is both practical and meaningful. But above all, I want clients to feel safe showing up as their authentic selves. My hope is that they leave each session feeling more understood, more confident, and equipped with tools they can use long after our work together ends.
What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives / increase their happiness?
Start paying attention to patterns instead of judging them. Our emotions, behaviors, eating habits, and routines all tell us something. The sooner we learn to approach those patterns with curiosity instead of shame, the easier it will become to make meaningful changes in our everyday lives.
We provide a range of support for people with ADHD and other behavioral health conditions.
