What led you to pursue a career helping others?
While growing up I faced my own challenges with ADHD and mental health. Throughout my journey I had amazing professionals supporting and inspiring me. Since then, I have always known I wanted to be that support person for someone else going through similar challenges.
What education, skills, and expertise do you bring to your role?
I myself was diagnosed with ADHD as a young teen and had an ADHD coach myself! That experience truly changed the way I experience life in a beautiful way, and it inspires the work I do now. Growing up I had the opportunity to hold many childcare positions which sparked my passion for caring for and supporting others. After graduating high school, I attended The University of Oregon, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Gender Studies. From there I went on to pursue a career in Applied Behavior Analysis as a Behavior Technician where I now work with children on the autism spectrum. These experiences have provided me with a diverse toolbox of professional and educational skills that I now apply to my coaching sessions.
Who/what inspires you?
My family inspires me the most, but I would consider my younger sister my biggest inspiration. She is completing nursing school and it has been incredible to watch her grow through the process and do things she never thought she could do. She has taught me so much about believing in myself.
What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?
My personal approach is centered around the understanding that each brain is beautifully unique. I believe that approaching each client with an open mind and heart is key to creating a successful coaching experience. My goal is to provide creative tools, practical strategies, and meaningful support that clients can implement in ways that fit their individual needs and goals. I aim to create a space where clients feel confident, empowered, and understood while they discover what works best for them.
What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives / increase their happiness?
One small thing people can do in their day-to-day lives to increase happiness and improve their state of living is to involve play into everyday mundane tasks. I think it can be easy to look at a long scary list of things you have to do and immediately assume how each task might make you feel. Challenging your internal narrative and strategy around each difficult task may be what you need to feel a bit more content (and maybe even have fun). Have to do the dishes? Make it dishwashing karaoke! Long essay to write? Put on your favorite playlist and give yourself a dancing break every 5 songs or after every paragraph! There are so many creative ways to approach the hard tasks in our lives. I think it can be so helpful to think outside the box when you notice motivation is hard to find.
We provide a range of support for people with ADHD and other behavioral health conditions.
