What led you to pursue a career helping others?
This is the kind of work that I am always drawn to and the skills that I practice the most. All of the work I have ever done—working as an outdoor educator and wilderness therapy field guide, working in the publishing industry, or working as an educator—has brought me to formulate a career that centers around helping others. It is also the most fulfilling work I have done, and I am grateful for the opportunities I get to do it.
What education, skills, and expertise do you bring to your role?
My experience working at an education startup called Untapped Learning is what started me on this path. There, I worked with students on their EF skills and was able to see them grow. I am immensely proud of the work that I did there and grateful I get to continue it here in WA. My time as a teacher at Dartmoor has also informed how I approach education with an open and adaptive mind. I have learned a lot through my personal and professional experiences that have made me who I am today.
Who/what inspires you?
People who want to grow inspire me daily to continue to grow.
What’s your personal philosophy/approach toward the work you do?
Never stop learning. Always adapt.
What is one small thing people can do to improve their lives / increase their happiness?
Keep changing, maintain a growth mindset in everything you do, and go read a book.
We provide a range of support for people with ADHD and other behavioral health conditions.
